Paralax formed in 1977 with two members from Putnam Lake N.Y., Tom Staib (guitar/vocal), Jim Foster (bass/vocal) and three members from Peekskill, N.Y., Fred Boniello (guitar/vocal), George Neske (guitar/vocal), and Rich Rinaldi (drums). Early influences evolved around guitar-oriented bands like Montrose, UFO, Mohagany Rush, & Led Zeppelin. In the 70's and 80's venues played included Gemini, Ace in the Hole, Tuxedo Junction, Fore n' Aft North as home base. Paralax warmed up national acts like Rick Derringer, Blue Oyster Cult and others.

Paralax played 3 to 4 nights a week when dance clubs started to become popular, and big rock clubs started to close up, members of the band headed to the studio to work on original music.

All and all, it has been quite a journey, that Paralax is thankful for. Music, experience, and fans made such good memories for all of us. Paralax would like to THANK all their family, friends, fans, and Neil/Fore n' Aft for the support over the years. Special thanks to the crew that worked to all hours of the night to make the performances complete.

The performance by Paralax on October 6th will represent the only band that played the Fore n' Aft that still retains all of its orginal members 41 years later.
